Tracking Web Pages and Resources

Marketing for Mavens uses page tracking and resource tracking to match promotions and content to your web site visitors. The more pages and resources you track, the better when can learn what your visitors are looking for and display the content the matches their needs.

Page Tracking

You should track all of your web pages in the page tracking section. At a minimum, all of your thank you, conversion pages, and important web pages should be added to this section.

Click on the “create new” link to add a new page.

Title: A short title describing the page you’re tracking

URL: The full URL including HTTP or HTTPS. Do not include any code after the page name in the URL that are unique to individual visitors

Points: On a scale of 1 to 10, how important is it to you if someone visits this page. Pages that people receive after converting a form are very important and should be given 10 points. The more points a visitor accumulates, the better the sales lead and the more likely they are to become a customer.

Tags: Add tags that describe this page. As visitors visit pages that you have tagged, those tags are applied to that visitor. The more tags some receives, the better we can match your content to their needs.

Conversion: Is this a conversion page. A conversion page is a page that people receive after they have filled out a form. Checking this box allows you to track the page in your report.

Resource Tracking

Resource tracking serves 2 purposes. First, like page tracking, it helps determine what your visitors are looking for on your site. Second, you can add internet marketing widgets to your site that will pull links from your resource section and display them to your visitors so you can have “related content” section that display your top 5 most requested PDF’s.
